The
Queen paints vintage furniture. Unlike a lot of the
casual furniture made today, vintage pieces are
constructed of wood, not plastic. These wooden pieces
generally have interesting surface character in the form
of moldings and turned legs, which look fabulous when
painted in several colors.
Because of the vintage nature of the furniture,
each piece produced by the Queen is one of a kind both
in form and surface decoration.
The
Queen uses only the best semi-gloss interior paints from
Benjamin Moore and Sherwin -Williams.
Each piece of furniture is washed, sanded, and
primed before painting.
Each color used is applied in two coats and the
completed piece is protected by 3 coats of brush
applied, low luster polyurethane.
These steps help to ensure the best wear-ability
for the surface designs.
The Queen welcomes
custom orders.
Custom orders can be produced using your
furniture or something from the Queen’s stock.
She is always buying interesting and structurally
sound vintage furniture, so she may a piece that will
meet your needs.
The
Queen recognizes that a lot of people like to hand down
or re-purpose furniture.
Many parents like to use furniture for their
children’s rooms that was theirs as children or that
they inherit from their families.
This furniture can be re-painted to meet a young
daughter’s visions of a princess bedroom.
Or, if the furniture is to be used “as is”,
an accent piece, like a custom painted nightstand, small
dresser, table and chairs, or armoire can match the
linens and update the room.
When re-decorating, it is always best to first select
the fabric components of a room.
Paint can be tinted to match any bedding and
curtains, but it is not always easy to find linens to
match a paint color.
